PX3 – Emergency Strategy Game

This game is a fun way to learn how to be ready to cope during emergencies. The 3 P’s of emergency readiness are Planning, Prevention, and Preparedness giving us the name P times 3 or PX3. This game is best played with four players 10 years of age or older. The game consists of a game board, three categories of cards (Planning, Prevention and Preparedness), game money, one die, and game pieces. As players go around the board they collect the cards or receive money from insurance and grants. Then when they hit a spot where an emergency such as a snowstorm, an epidemic or a toxic spill occurs, they have the choice of either using the cards or paying the high costs of emergencies. In the end whoever was better prepared has the most money and wins the game.

Teachers and parents use the game to teach basic emergency preparedness principles even when they don’t know much about it.
